Our second time at this marché, and our first pop-up in a year. We’ve switched to new buns and are still dialling them in, so come grab a burger and tell us what you think!
About the event
For one day, the whole area around Kanbara Kannon-dō turns into a marché. Around 27 local stalls bring food, crafts, local produce and more, all with Mt. Asama as the backdrop. A new way to experience the history, food and culture of Kanbara.
Also on the day
- Stamp rally: visit Kannon-dō, Asama no Ibuki and the stalls to fill your stamp sheet, and get a gift when it’s complete. Sheets are handed out at the Tsumagoi Village Community Exchange Center and Asama no Ibuki; prizes are collected at the Community Exchange Center.
- Free Kanbara walking guides from 9:00 at the local history museum and Kannon-dō, plus guided walking tours every hour (sign up on the day at the Community Exchange Center).
- Mt. Asama Geopark 10th anniversary event in the Community Exchange Center main hall: a disaster-preparedness board game, volcanic eruption experiments and original goods.
Getting there
Kanbara, Tsumagoi, near Ōmae and Manza-Kazawaguchi stations on the JR Agatsuma Line. Parking is available by the Tsumagoi Village Community Exchange Center and Asama no Ibuki.
